Due to increasing enrollment, FTCA has the pleasure of providing students in grades 6-12 with the opportunity to participate in athletics.
In 2008, the Lady Patriot basketball team made their debut on the LCSAA (Louisiana Christian School Athletic Association) scene. The girls finished the year with a 13-4 record, and made it to the state tournament in Lafayette. This year, the Lady Patriots are back and ready for more action under the direction of new head coach Vic Ortiz. Ortiz, former head coach of the Anacoco girls, has won five state championships and brings a lot of valuable experience to the table for the ladies.
Also for the girls, the school is adding a softball team. The team will be coached by fifth grade teacher Kathy King. Practice will begin following the close of basketball season.
Until this year, there have been no boys' athletics. Ed Reese and Ben Hackler have joined forces to bring the first ever boys' basketball team. The boys' season will coincide with the girls'.
"We are looking forward to a great season!" said Richard Reese, high school principal.
